getting slackier and slackier by the day haha.. not really... quite disappointing to get no replies from all the companies I've sent my resume to and those organisations Ive decided to VOLUNTEER at... i mean, hey! im doing stuff for free and yet I dont get an answer grrr...Anyway, Jap classes are getting more and more fun ^_^ It's so interesting to know more pple all just as passionate as you about Jap and who have so different backgrounds (like most of them have studied the subject for 10 yrs and have been to many language centres) Guess Im the only one with the MOELC cum RJ bg haha...Suddenly feel so so fortunate that the government had paid for all my language lessons :) Im paying through my nose now k...:( Appreciate the free education for 5 whole yrs very much! I'm getting better and better now... at least Ive got to realise that everyone's jap isnt tt great after all so I neednt feel so intimidated in that class *grin... I borrowed HERO vcds and a jap book from the lang centre! Gosh i love the fact there's a mini library there for us to grab anything we want hee....
Went to the amk lib with shuwan today... wanted to revise my jap and complete my homework before my lessons in the evening but ended up reading mi ji's Mr Wing haha... realised to my horror that I had forgotten so much of my chi!!! (not to blame really... the book was in fan ti not jian ti *protests*) After that, we went to kfc and I must say today was my brokest day... shuwan had 3 bucks with her i think.. and i had 0cents:P So we shared cheese fries while I narrated to her all 20 episodes of "Glass Slipper"... The show is really so good i cant believe everyone i told about it has not even bothered to watch it!
Anyway, must start recording the more important events... tried recalling my attachment but cant remember lots liao *gasp* took me near a thousand words to describe my first day and it left me extremely exhausted so much so I didnt want to type anymore. In any case, I volunteered from 1010 in the morn to 6pm at night at the biopolis as an eco tour guide... Would never have believed that I would have been able to squeeze that 5 page info in my head but i did! And I thoroughly enjoyed the experience (esp the walking since I havent exercised for ages!) New thing i learnt: the loud hailers weigh a ton! Had to use them anyway :P Was really interesting when I asked all the secondary sch students how old they thought i was and they answered 20+!!!!! argh! good thing kc said I could pass off as a 16 if not id have believed them instead :( Was really fun coz they thought i was from poly or so then they kept asking what sch i was from haha... then some teachers thought i was an employee in the biopolis :P Most exciting thing! After a long long long long wait... I finally tried the personal transporter! It's this two wheeled thing u stand on and u can move different directions by just shifting ur weight slightly *grin... It's so sensitive (u just need to lean very slightly forward to move forward) that it seemed like the device could detect my thoughts instead of my movements :P Feng i managed to get on it hee...
Anyway, was really thankful to feng for keeping my books for me so i neednt lug an extra weight ard :P Feng told yiuming where I was and she came to look for me! So happy to see everyone again! I missed the tea session in the morn coz I had one shift exactly at that time... Thought I would have a sumptuous lunch but things turned out quite the opp haha.... was told lunch would start at 1 but it started at like 1.20 or so and all the tour guides were really dying to get our hands on the food... bad thing was... the pple who paid to come for the seminar obviously had to go first and by the time we got to the food there was really nothing left... now i understand what it means to eat the scraps coz it really looks nothing like what the pple were eating... saw the food at first and it looks really yummy but when i managed to get there, u really dun wanna know how it looked like :S Lucky for us, the caterers replenished only 3 trays of food and like the spaghetti one was gone in 5 mins!!!!! Poor us, impoverished tour guides *sob* I had a 3 hour break after lunch before my next shift so all of us sat in the deserted bar (the place where they serve drinks instead of the place where pple have their drinks :P) and talked *grin... Quite glad to talk to the sp pple and the other guy from some aussie uni...michelle and miaoling were so interested in the exhibits they hardly sat down :S Intended to mug my jap while I waited for my shift but ended up talking.. not so nice to just as off and stay all by myself i feel :P
I went down early and so i just sat at the fountain waiting for the bendemeer sec pple to come when winston came over to talk. Found out he studied in London and his dad's my dad's boss! But anyway, he's dad just retired so nvm haha... How small the world is ya? After the whole tour ended (about 630pm), we were treated to dinner by the nea and jtc pple *grin... had mushroom pasta, mushroom soup, dessert and red wine haha... indeed the working world is so different from the world i used to live in haha... (guys more despo :P juz joking...) just that the jokes they laugh at the things they talk about so so different :S But nevertheless, they were really entertaining and this guy went around forcing all of us to finish all the wine :P Must say the whole thing ended on a high note and I did feel a tinge of reluctance as i bid them goodbye :`( But i guess life must go on... I want to carry on creating such wonderful memories everywhere I go :)
tts all... need to prep for tuition tmr :S ciao!

Argh.... having a horrid headache now... must be due to the lack of sleep :P woke up at 5+ today :P Just couldnt get back to sleep for some queer reason (probably excess sleep the past few days haha) Anyway, started searching for jobs and sending my resume to a thousand and one people via email... gosh, I hope I dont get replies to all if not I'll be seriously packed my whole hols :P Don't have much confidence for the Jap speaking part time job but I'll try anyway *grin.. hope I don't screw up their company's supplies :S Some office slackers are still snoring away at 10pm grrr... forever not picking up the phone... I'll try again soon. :) Watched another episode of glass slipper... It's getting super interesting and it cures my headache *grin. Yesterday's thai lesson at yck cc was quite fun :) especially since I have melissa ard and a new found friend *beam* (whose name I didnt ask :P) k, I'll need to start memorising my script for the eco tour and finish writing my email to my friend in Japan.

This is amazing! I don't believe how small the world is but this is what I chanced upon when I was surfing the net:
"crazy about serving
I got struck by the phrase 'crazy about serving'. =)
Last night, my MEET* team interviewed Loong, a Thai Christian as part of our learning process about missions in Thailand. And besides the many details we learnt, two things stood out in how we should interact with others in Thailand. He said
1) be yourself;
2) and if we should have the chance to go on homestays, show that you're crazy about serving.
It was the second that really caught my ear. 'Crazy about serving'.
Loong's English was very fluent for his few months here but it was still occasionally halting. So when he uttered the phrase, it just jumped out because it came out as foreign (i.e. it felt like he had made this English phrase to articulate a concept he knew through and practised in Thai). It jumped out also because he so genuinely believed in it and lived it. It rang in my mind. "
Found this on a discussion board somehow and realised the person who posted this has the name delia (is she cheryl kong's sister? hmm... coz theyre both in my church) But whatever the case, I know I can't be wrong... it must be the Loong I know...

Isn't it quite interesting my moods keep fluctuating and alternating? Seems like every other post is happy while the rest are frustrated posts :P anyway, today was great great great! so happy :P thought i'd never be able to wake up for choir practice in church today but i somehow did. praise god! We were practising a new song to sing on cny and i realised that my singing sucks when they told me to try the solo part :S (that was purely for fun.. not that ill ever get there in this lifetime)Anyway, after practice we walked from the admin building to the sanctuary and there I saw who I had waited 23 days to see... gosh... i was just perfectly stunned, really. Ever had the experience of seeing someone only after every 20+ days? The last time was a period of 26 days... well, hope the days shorten :P
Wanted to say hi actually but I was to act less as and join the choir at the breakfast table so didnt have a chance :P It did lift my spirits up for the rest of the day in anycase... At least I know that all my prayers about keeping him safe and well when he's in phuket helping out were answered :) Well, that's enough I guess *grin
Went to pubrc to have a real cheap lunch. 12 bucks for a family lunch! Sounds like macs huh? Well, we had like western food, fried rice etc etc in large servings actually... Gave tuition as usual (I'm beginning to get the hang of it geez... feel more confident now) then went to visit my uncle and my little adorable, highly energetic cousin :P Gosh, I have finally made a giant leap in communicating with children! I actually managed to maintain a decent conversation with her :P (she's in p1 haha) Anyway, we went down to the pool to have a swim and I swam only 420 m:( did about 800m last week grrr... The pool was quite dark and I got a little freaked out swimming at the deep end myself (coz my sis din wanna join me there :( )... After which, we had dinner at newton... yipee! nice relaxing day *grin
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT HAPPENED!!!! My maid managed to buy the korean drama 'bo li xie' at half the original price!!!!!!!!!!!!I am sooooo elated... I can hardly wait to watch everything! That really made my day too ^_^ I've waited for a month and more to buy it! Kept thinking I would be able to get over the addiction after most of the episodes have been shown on tv.... Wanted to save up for thai missions trip this june but some really sneaky guy (whose shop location I shall not reveal for fear I would not get another good deal and also to prevent all the rest of the vcd sellers from clobbering this 'spoil marketeer'^_^) managed to sell it at such an inexpensive price it doesnt hurt paying for it now hee...
That's all for the day I guess.... cant wait to have malay lessons with sw ^_^ walking back into the classroom with her hee~

oh great... so now there's a conference downstairs to discuss and criticize my gullibility... fine, I'll admit I'm stupid. But I really am truly disappointed with the world of adults. They have a serious problem. What's worse is my dad thinks im a goon who believes anyone who would give me a sweet (ie. speak politely)??? Okay, so the theory of survival goes: Always assume evil until proven good. So everyone is evil and bad, does that satisfy everyone? Maybe if i compromise and agree on this bit (which is the total opp of my theory) then I may be allowed to go overseas to study... So just compromise your values, principles, beliefs and everything la huh? After all, i'm entering the adult world soon... Nothing holds in there.
This year had better be well lived... after which, I'd officially have left the "gullible" teenage yrs...
That's why I admire Loong so much... A pure heart of gold totally unstained with the ugly values of the adult world...He's probably in thailand phuket helping out in missions i guess... hope he's doing well :)

gosh what a stark contrast with the previous post...i cannot be bothered about the new year... not when the start of the yr marks potential failures to come... why is it people work hard for things? Why is it pple bother to put in so much effort into something that is nothing more than a dream? why do people against all hope still choose to believe in something tt will eventually crush their little flame of hope for the future?
well, if there's something i don't ever believe now, it's hard work. Everything is predetermined... your intelligence, your future etc. Why bother changing it? Why bother trying so hard? Why bother chasing a dream when u have no stamina to? I never should have trusted my abilities. They'll get me nowhere really...

Blessed year ahead! Akemashite omedetougozaimasu! gl?ckliches neues Jahr!
Best 'countdown' i had this yr:) spent it at a watchnight service in church *grin was just wondering how wunderful it is to start the new yr with God :) First time at a watchnight service actually :P was quite impressed and amazed at how the pastor managed to finish everything just a few mins past 12 so we could wish each other a happy new yr :) saw so many pple there today! all thks to the camp, i felt so at home seeing everyone in such a huge and crowded church! didnt expect so many pple to turn up for watchnight service but it was packed full! saw poh chean, geraldine and her husband, eugene and jane, angie and loong :)
best part was that shuwan and silvanus came *grin... started the new yr making a new friend...*beam* ill change my statement la haha... silvanus was really friendly today:P my dad commented that he's a 'nice boy'- i.e. courteous n well mannered *grin
anyway, realised that i had so so many people to pray for and the list cant end... decided that ill try to set aside one hour of a day in a week to pray... tts like 24/7 without the commitment... dunno if i can get down to it... if i am able to keep it up then ill go sign up for 24/7 at my church :)
thought of a thousand and one things to blog about but in the end i cant remember what i wanna say.. i guess the new year is still filled with the same uncertainties i knew it would bring but i have a greater confidence to face up to those challenges ahead :) lotsa stuff still hanging in there like no uni to go so far, no course yet, no A level results yet, no scholarship, stay or leave? but God will unfold his plan to me... I've learnt to be more patient and less anxious about things :)
Another great thing that happened *grin.. managed to meet up with loong today ;p so so long since ive last seen him ^_^ he never fails to display his devotion to God... can see his love for God overflowing everytime i speak to him...gosh he brings such great encouragement to me :) Very pleasant new yr gift from god :)
