got a hp chain in a shape of a cross with my name engraved on it today via mail! ^_^ so happy *grin...been wanting to have a hp chain with my name on it for really long...
yesterday's move to the new RJ campus was not as fun as expected :( thought it was an opportunity to see everyone again but just sooo few people went to the new campus... and i was told the day before that we werent allowed on the mrt... was quite disappointing :( anyway, it was great coz i managed to meet up with yanghan, jia wei, huileng and mei nu shuwan! The campus is enormous from the outside but i guess the design is so directionless-friendly that i could get the orientation right in a very short time ^_^ the lecture theatres are huge! look so much better compared to how they looked at the start of the year when i brought the j1s there for orientation... j2s i mean... cant believe im a j3 liao *sob* so old! met up with sensei yesterday! still so friendly and nice *grin...didnt get scolded even though my jap became so rusty :P saw alfie, mr khoo and mr wong too :) the campus is really new and majesty... and the design is such that if u have those roller shoes, u can just "skate" from one end of the school to the other end (or almost)! amazing!
the best part was the wonderful rooftop experience haha... we saw a bunch of students at the rooftop of the block that faced the lib... sw thought it was really cool and zai zai-ish (was reminded of the part in liu xing hua yuan where zai zai and shan cai spent their romantic times together haha) so we set out on a search for the entrance to the rooftop...
found out the only way up was by climbing a ladder against the wall... thanks to yanghan who 'pioneered' the climb and slid open the metal covering, we were able to get to the rooftop! took a photo of the view from there... not tt fantastic actually *grin... anyway, the climb down was highly 'perilous'and challenging (for sw and me at least haha) got stuck with one foot down the ladder and the other on the landing of the rooftop haha... must say it was one real adventure for me :P but well, at least we all got down safely and had a very memorable climb ;p
now to the depressing part of life... got very upset by the neverending newsreports on the earthquake tsunami victims... am very sick of watching pple getting swept away on the screen again and again... i feel so selfish just being on this island... just being so blessed.... wish i could do something to help really... anyway, decided that i am serious about reading med... want to go over there to help them... to spread the love and grace of God to them... but then again.. i pray that nothing so horrendous ever occurs again....id be happier if the need for doctors to fly over would not ever arise again....May God heal the destroyed lands, the hearts of the broken hearted and his beloved children who are experiencing physical and emotional pain....

back from korea! so long since ive been on a tour with my family so its really quite hard to compare this 'outing' with the others :P (cant recollect much)so happy to have received 8 christmas cards when i reached home! anyway, this trip did teach me lots about myself and my character... areas in which i need to change and do better in...
hah...cant believe i met serjin in everland still! quite spectacular coz we set out on different dates, went on different tours for a different number of days and looking at the enormous everland, it does seem quite impossible to find someone u know... but anyway, he and his bunch of friends were wearing this striking duck (or was it not?) cap... so interesting all the adults there bought cute reindeer, rabbit, etc caps to wear haha... point was, my sis commented that the caps were really cute and then i realised it was serjin! haha... sad that we didnt take a photo:(
well, this is the tour in which ive wasted the greatest no. of hours just doing nothing! haha... all the long dreary hours of travelling were just used to sleep and read (probably 1/100th of the time)... anyway, learnt lots bout my sister and dad especially...sometimes i get so pissed off and so disapproving of their behaviour but at the end of the day, I realised that like it or not, we're one family and despite the flaws, they are really indispensable in my life :)
started out on the tour with quite a jaded perspective... kept thinking pple were nice because they wanted something...halfway along the way this photographer (tall, hunkish, korean guy aged 28) joined us and he was soooo super nice... serving us at each meal, getting all the top ups we needed, playing with the kids, helping us when we fell down during the ski and all....kept thinking that he just wants to make money out of all these at the end of it coz the photos cost a bomb so it doesnt matter much if he bought a drink for a relatively microscopic sum of money for some pple... of coz he did make lotsa money for his company but i realised i was truly wrong about him... throughout the trip, i could really sense his sincerity in helping all of us and gosh i must admit he really has a way with the kids... so da gor gor *grin reminded me very much of loong's hospitality when i went to thailand...
heard about the earthquakes when i reached home...dunno what to say actually... my heart goes out to the pple... prayed for god's grace and mercy to be upon them... and that all these will just stop...(ie no more after disasterous after effects and repeats)
just before the plane touched down today, i was looking at all the islands around Singapore.. all filled with trees (highly undeveloped) or aesthetically unpleasantly cemented or so... then i looked at spore and was so so proud of the impressive towers, the nice neat rows of houses and all... love this place so so much :)
then as i watched the news (in which the expert was explaining how tsunamis were produced and all), i realised how fortunate we all are... to be so well situated such that we were buffered so well from the impact of the earthquake.. praise god and i thank god for this! realised we're really quite close to the countries affected but we were 'miraculously' out of the way of the impact! Feel so blessed :)

at the airport now :P flying to seoul from jeju *grin... heard its gonna be cold *shivers* anyway, the airport trolleys are really formidable here gosh.. it takes 3 adults to remove one trolley from the whole string of them! still havent gotten to talk to any one of the people here sigh...so as right. really live up to my name man.. i love internet kiosks.. advocates as-ness :P anyway, was watching some ducks near a waterfall yesterday and there was this interesting one that swam far away from the flock.. as as! thought tt was the cutest anyway *grin..
tours make u selfish i feel... so caught up with serving your own interest in everything you do... just like how my dad ended up blaming us for pushing a whole row of trolleys for everyone... hols with my dad is as good as being royalty... youre not allowed to do any work at all.. he wants to do everything.. even helping us get food onto our plates! going overseas seems to be the only viable alternative :(

i'm about to go mad really.... first time in my life i was dying to get home to blog... ive got so many things in me i wanna say but it's totally banned in the house! im feeling very very very oppressed actually...
all my life i feel as though i am holding on to this heavy set of principles and ethics while swimming against a current of modern office politics... i know i know.. i know my parents are right... how could they be wrong? but this whole new world (or polluted some may say) that im gonna enter soon is so so so ugly... i hate it. Everyone's actions have an ulterior motive to it... and the worse is, you cant do anything about it.. superiors are oblivion to the intentional curry favouring of they subordinates.. they just happily accept everything. And what's worse is that eventually, everyone would have to resort to that to just to survive! Well, maybe an alternative would be finding something to eat from other than the rice bowl...
People are nice.. they say nice things.. they are friendly.. i like them... that's simple me... i dont care if they have a hidden agenda... i dont care if they hate me actually... i just want to be a sincere friend... try my best to see only the good side of everyone (well there must be something good about everyone i believe) Unfortunately, I am being constantly reminded that that's about to end... that im about to be converted into a monster like creature with absolutely compromisable standards in life... Why is it everytime they remember someone it has to be the person who did this this this... tried to do this this this.. and everything seems bad somehow? Why cant u take anything offensive as a pure mistake on that person's part? a mistake made accidentally probably due to a wrong use of words?
Went to church today... Saw the newsletter bout the G1 missions camp... quite upset that i wasnt in the final group photo coz i left earlier... not very impt i know but it just somehow led to me wondering if it was a mistake that i went for the camp and ended up with both happy and painful memories....on my part, i know ive done whatever i can to make it a memorable one but.. nvm.. i really dislike it when my dad has to bring up the unhappy moments everytime we meet someone whom we may have had some friction with... I dont think i had any unhappy times with anyone actually but the fact that we're all from the same family makes me wonder how they view me really.... sometimes i dont even dare to say hi coz i know they're reminded of things they dont wanna remember when they see me...
every time i talk to my parents about church, mission camps, missions etc... basically everything i generate a heated discussion...i dont ever wanna talk to them about it... we will end up spending one hour to cool it off and talk it over and in the end all i do is try to agree with everything so as to appease them... Loong shared in his testimony in thailand that he never imagined he would go into missionary work but eventually he did... i think things happen like that... you find a passion for something later in life when u least expected... somehow, childhood ambitions and passions now die off... i just hope mine wouldnt... but i can feel it... i can feel how i'm being slowly swept by the current...
Before this, whenever the current got stronger, i swam faster and harder.. but im losing my energy... it's just getting too hard for me...
anyway, while i was receiving a highly educating "lesson" on office politics, i read this from the bible...
Matthew 6:1-4
"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly."

I sometimes find myself mildly violating this actually... shall continue to work on it :)
getting very tired from everything that has happened... but i must remember to mention: the tan family bought me a clay aiken calendar! gosh i just love it! they know me sooo well... im so gonna have a good yr ahead *grin.. and for the long long msgs in the cards that ive received, infinite thanks too :) you pple are sooo nice.. thanks for allowing me to believe there are such sweet pple in the world :)
n another little update haha... ive straightened my hair and i think it looks more manageable now haha..

great... after the whizzing day, ive finally managed to get some quiet time to myself:) will start to pack for the korea trip soon *grin.. quite excited about it... white christmas, making more friends etc *blissful smile* but somehow i know it's gonna be different... just less of the fulfilling kind but more for a luxury...but after being back in Spore for sometime, I guess somehow its impossible not to put ur priorities and self enjoyment above all things... very sad actually... but i hope ill try hard not to let this sink into myself too often...
gosh, dying of guilt how i havent been regular with my quiet times...yes yes, i find myself blaming it on Singapore.. how in spore, it is possible to have all the time in the world and yet still end up not devoting any to ur religion... i've strayed too far into the worldly pleasures, the bright dazzling orchard rd lights i guess... time i really invest in the secure steadfast word of god...somehow it's so unfair i always go to him when im in need and he always helps me out but i never repay at all! my sis' exams have been going quite smooth and I really am so glad that god's grace is on her... these few days, everyone's asking what i wanna read in the future, what i wanna be next time blah blah blah... it becomes hard not to think about whether your results can make it in the first place ya? but this straying away has given me this insecurity, this extra worry about the future....I guess my answer to all would be that whatever god wants me to do, he will provide...
I think the greatest thing ive learnt through the exam period (lyn told me this) was tt ive tried too hard with my human strength... that all things/blessings eventually come from god... and it really is by god's grace im given all that i have.. and i know he will provide... Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Just thought about this promise and i realised i have been making so so many empty promises... about joining 24/7, joining a cell group, serving in church ministry... ive done none at the moment... and still when i need help in making decisions, especially recently regarding giving tuition and all, he's just always there for me... haiz.. i ought to start carrying out what i said i would... guess one of the consequences was that i ended up losing my patience with 3 pple recently... didnt end in anything major.. we're still good friends :) just hope to control myself better next time and think of how god would have wanted me to handle the situation instead... my parents seem right all the time... no matter how i dont agree with their methods, their jaded perspectives, they are always right.. i know somehow it doesnt agree with my views but i cant find a loophole in their explanation! i guess being practical is all about logic... being nice is being illogical so it's obvious who will never win... but is being practical always so important? unfortunately, i feel im being sucked into this whirlpool of practical beliefs and cynical perspectives that im losing what i want to achieve... ill spend time to get back on track tonight... cant believe i even made a major blunder today... how could i forget to put religion first in my life? I do actually.. just tt it slipped my mind when i was talking to a friend... well, kk... i guess im slipping into temporary nun-ship so it's not permanent haha.. but the main reason would be more because i need someone who can guide me back on track each time i go off rather than slack off with me... and someone who shares the same ideals and goals in life... someone who would be willing to do missions with me next time... someone who cares about the world more than he cares about me i guess... and tt someone is non existent..
quite happy actually, that im a free person now.. free of all bondages :) free to pursue my dreams and all... temporary nun-ship is bliss to me :)
weird how i really dont seem to miss blogging... guess i have stopped thinking these few days... stopped trying to process anything tts y... so busy going to jog, going for driving lessons, catching up with friends, writing xmas cards etc etc... when to my 2 grandparents' houses today... quite happy to meet up after such a long time.. and im so glad tt my grandma and aunties didnt press me for an answer as to wat course im taking and all they said was that god would provide and tell me eventually :) actually i do know it's medicine... just dunno where and how... but i guess thats not important anymore :)
met up with kok wei yesterday... he said he's intending to join Doctors without Borders next time... very noble ambition... yep, really admire his passion and i believe he can make it :) glad he thinks the same way as i do (finally found a friend who thinks alike!) its more of the personal fulfilment... after all, money, spending and everything else comes because of spending extra time on shopping and all... so actually, one doesnt need that much to survive anyway...sigh.. better get offline before i miss my resolution again... so many things on my mind now actually... but i guess there's no point listing them down coz it wont get me anywhere... i need to seek something more eternal...

getting a bit tired with my blog design but after thinking about how much effort i put in to get it done and the fact that there is no better alternative present at the moment, i guess ill keep this design.... anyway, still quite upset about what happened just now... went to thomson plaza with my maid and mum and i decided to drop by starbucks... just wanted to meet up with the pple there... miss tt place lots...been studying there virtually every other day from prelims till As...actually, I had already made up my mind to work there even before the exams ended but I just wanted to make sure my schedule is fixed before i take on a long term job...
went there to buy a drink and one of em commented that i cut my hair haha..told her that i did it after the exams and im currently having 6 months hols and tt i was planning to get a job at starbucks... she kinda told me the procedure and was really excited about it *grin.. she even offered to give me the application form right away but when she asked her colleague, the other lady said that they had just recently hired 3 more new part timers and couldnt afford anymore at this outlet...i wasnt even sure i was ready to take up the job but as i thought about it on the way home, i got more and more upset... tt was one of the things i was very sure i wanted to do and it's really my dream job (even though the pay may not be high) cant believe i just lost a chance like tt... had i been less bothered about other commitments especially non existent attachments, i would have been able to get the job ive always hoped for... sigh... the disappointment was quite great and it nearly brought me to tears but thank god the nightsky was beautiful :) and it had such a great soothing effect tt everything else seemed secondary... spotted sirius and possibly betelguese..oh well, there goes... i wont work for 6 months... either i get what i want or i dun get anything at all... refuse to settle for anything less.. just this very special affinity for tt place actually... something ill never get anywhere else... wish id stop being so passive and letting important things, events and pple go by like that all the time...

oh yesh and how could i forget to mention? nus was soooo kind they decided to waiver the pgp stayover fee of 50 bucks! what could be more fun than a stayover with sunny, getting to make so many friends at absolutely no cost? haha.. must get back to earth... i wanna start earning money :P

+awaiting to soar..* 5:47 午後

just got back from nus tour... so fun!!!! actually i must admit that i regretted joining once i entered that room and found out there were only 5 participants!! and that i was paying 50 bucks for the whole stayover! but im so glad i stayed on.... the small group thing was great as it allowed us alot of interaction with the student union members....
they took us to all the hangouts, haunts and the little nook and crannies of nus... haha.. places i'd never know even if i were to enrol there haha...we met at yusof ishak house at 1pm yesterday and had some ice breakers and a video.... then we went on a tour to the physics lab! so fun! they were showing us really interesting experiments on superconductors and how things can float in the air just by lowering its temp by using liquid nitrogen... then was the super amazing experiment how a symmetrical object appeared to move uphill without any force... so cool... figured out finally tt its illusionary... the cg is actually going down even though it seems like the object it moving up.. amazing! had many more eye openers like the hard as cement block of tissue and ice haha...
then we went to the raffles museum... quite cool with all the specimens and all but i must admit i dun have much of an interest in that kinda things and the lady who kept talking non stop especially about the history of the museum just got me so exasperated. People like me would have just walked through the museum in 5 mins instead of 1 hour haha.... Anyway, we had dinner at the munchie monkies... its a restaurant set up by the student union.. sugoii! the crayfish arriabatta was great and cheap too... not to mention desert yum yum (think italian chocolate cake with ice cream!) after dinner was the longest night of my life haha... we walked so much i guess it easily could have been 4km haha... we went to all the hall of residences.... went through the lover's bridge, blah blah blah and the best part was the supposedly scary track which was fairly decently well lit haha... quite a relief all the deserted houses they wanted to enter were either locked or had some religious thinggy hanging there so much so no one wanted to go in haha.... the empty houses were spooky but glad i didnt go in haha... anyway, the pple there are super nice.. kept talking to us (small group la) kept walking all night and cracking funny jokes...
after everything, we went to the cheese prata house! more food! supper! the banana cheese prata was superb man... + the bundungcinno.... gosh... *licks lips* the cheese prata had some honey thinggy added so the whole thing tasted sweet, cheesy (duh!) and a tinge of the sour taste from the banana....
by the time we got to the prince george's park, it was about 1 am already... did all the washing up before we gathered to play card games! first, was an uno like game with poker cards, then was some super cute and entertaining engine game called wo de liang mao qian zhen me bu jian liao haha...so funny... it was really hard to spot the coin k... but some pple were real good at it... after that was the totally brainless but fun diu*3 game haha... then was big fish and small fish before most of the gals conked off haha....
but sunny and i were still wide awake so we took a nice adventure down to a spoilt street lamp and started watching the stars... boy, the night sky was soooo clear! and the amazing thing was the part with stars were clear and the other parts were filled with clouds... managed to track down some parts of gemini, sirius (so bright and beautiful), betelgeuse, orion, rigel and other parts of canis major.... quite a pity that we didnt manage to identify all the stars before the clouds travelled to our side and blanketed them sigh... never mind.. it was a great night!
we actually decided not to sleep but i guess there wasnt much we could do so we decided to sleep haha.... gosh so happy sunny came with me.. so so fun!
one fascinating part about pgp is tt the door system is so high tech... all controlled by this remote control thinggy like those for cars... bit confused at first but both of us got pro-er and pro-er as we locked the doors and opened it a few more times haha
morning was quite lax actually... we went for breakfast at macs *grin.. its so much cheaper than outside! then, we went to take a look at engine fac, then a bit on law fac, sci fac and met my sister at co-op hee.. so proud to have a sister there *grin
went to take a look at their photocopying shop... so pro! have about 10 computers around for students to access they account to print notes... but seriously.. a bit too cram and apparently the com doesnt seem to work at optimum speed :S
okie... so it does seem that sunny and i do want to stay in nus... but im so so grateful to the friendly seniors tt entertained us the whole night :)
came home and was talking to my maid... she said im crazy to want to go for g2 missions camp... she went to the extent to say tt im mi xing???? excuse me im insulted... she doesnt understand! no one in my family ever will.. i dun need them to... but i just want to make sure that i never will undergo a change of heart because of this....
sunny said that i was crazy to trade my overseas experience to stay in spore just to go for missions to thailand every year... i feel its worth every bit of it... but much as my parents want me to stay in spore, my mom said that she will not allow me to threaten her like tt... im not!!*protests* its okay... they can rule over me now but not forever.... once my duty to them is complete ill be free to do what my heart desires... ill take things one at a time :)
~jesus is the saviour of my soul and forever and ever i will give my praises to u :) ~

dunno why im feeling so so tired each day... and im skipping so much of quiet time... life is so free yet so disorderly now....
came back from incredible with my parents yesterday and slept for more than 12 hours! gosh.. only woke up at 3 pm today :P incredibles was so so good... such a nice family show... like elastigal best :) really the best cartoon ive watched for years!
anyway, been so busy after i came back from thailand... *yawn* so lack of sleep... paid back everything today i guess... been uploading endless no. of songs on my ipod and trying to upload my grad nite photos on the web but i think the main culprit for my lack of sleep is the early morning nus talks on law and med! gosh... who wakes up and 8+ during hols?? but i mean i did when i first returned from thailand coz i had minimal sleep everyday... was too cold to sleep there so i could get up hee...
i miss thailand... but just as expected, the feeling is fading.... im gradually reintegrating into the Singaporean culture... not tt i like it but its practical to do so...
went to register for the basic theory driving test yesterday :) went for hep b testing and vaccination before that... was so so sleepy i could hardly be bothered when my family doctor jabbed me twice haha... she was talking to me abt reading medicine again... sigh....im just too lazy to think about the future... know what ever god wants me to do he will provide :)
got back my bmat result yesterday... must say it wasnt exceptional but im quite happy coz i did better than i expected i would.... god is great! I believe if he really wants to be go to cambridge he'd provide :) Ill just wait and receive :)
going for the nus stayover... actually wondering if i made a mistake for there is such a poor turn out and i realised that my 50 bucks didnt include the meals! sigh... but since sunny's coming with me it cant be not fun haha! hope its worth my 50 bucks *grin
gotta clear the neverending mess in my house *stretches weak muscles*

im back from thailand! mixed feelings... actually feeling very upset actually.... the trip was so so so good i wish i never had to come back... thanx to hk, eve, bena, sang and weili for distracting me from my sense of emptiness...
After coming back to civilisation with an aching back, hand and thighs, i just feel so out of place. I feel all my past activities of watching tv, slacking, watching movies, walking aimlessly are so meaningless...
These 4 days have been the best days and the worst days of my life i guess... made so many friends from church! so glad tt this is not an end but rather a beginning of another chapter in my life!
had so so much to share... thanx to eve for listening to all the upsetting parts... still trying to get over it...
I've never felt like this before.... every now and then ill look at the time and wonder what the rest of the team is doing back in thailand... i want to be with them.. i want to experience everything they are experiencing... i want to stay close to god....
How wonderful it is to start a day and end a day with worship! I hope that resolution never dies... Never felt so awful in my life.... just wanted to cry when i touched down... i wish i never had a grad night dinner... i wish i wasnt back here.... i wish i didnt trouble so many pple to arrange for my flight back here....
Did all my journaling in the book given to me so guess it wont be here ;P anyway, was talking to eve today and she was just telling me someone told her how great it would be if one can find a partner in life who shares the same profession, the same vision and how if one really could find a life long partner like that, nothing is too hard to conquer... True... totally agree...but how many have the heart for missions?
I wanna be back for the youth camp and everything else there is! Praise God for all things!
Glad to know kejia on the way back too! he was on a missions trip as well... and he is my ex pastor's son! the world is real small.. *grin
